Categories Toolbar

Categories Toolbar is a set of buttons (with icons) you may use to narrow down your search to the files types, falling under corresponding category.

By default, the available categories are: All Files (no restriction criteria are applied), Web pages, Music, Pictures, Office, Text, PDF, Emails and Archives. The list of predefined categories greatly depends on file types which were found on indexed device. If none of file types that fall under particular category were found, this category won't show up on Categories Toolbar.

Each category has a number of predefined file types. You can modify any of categories by adding or removing file type extensions. To do that, select Tools -> Edit Categories from the Main Menu and click "Edit" button for the selected category.

If you choose any of the categories without typing in any search word, PocketSearch® will automatically list all of the indexed files that fall under the specified category. Thus, if you click the Music button, all files that have the following extensions will be listed in the results Search Results panel: *.mp3 *.wav *.wma *.ogg *.m3u *.ram *.wmx *.mp4 *.aiff *.mid *.au.

In case Categories Toolbar is hidden, you may activate it by selecting View -> Categories Toolbar option from the Main Menu.
