How does Gaviri SearchOS work?

Gaviri SearchOS is Gaviri's portable search technology for indexing and searching multiple devices. Gaviri SearchOS runs on desktops, laptops, smartphones, PocketPCs, flash and external drives, MP3 players, network drives and a host of other devices. Unlike other search engines, Gaviri SearchOS is designed to be a one-stop-shop for all your search needs across all the devices you use, regardless of operating system. In addition, SearchOS is portable.

Gaviri SearchOS installs the search engine and the index for each device on the device itself, this makes each device independently searchable while on-the-go, or collectively searchable when connected via a network, USB or FireWire port. After installation, the search engine indexes all the contents on the device and new files are indexed on-the-fly, if Gaviri SearchOS is running.
